I’m Laura Kimball, founder of By the Lake Virtual Assistant & Co. I help busy REALTOR®s and established business owners take marketing, projects, and behind-the-scenes work off their plates, with reliable support they can trust.

A LITTLE ABOUT ME
I’ve always been someone who likes to make things happen. Give me an idea, a problem, or a project that needs pulling together, and I’m happiest figuring out how to move it forward.
Running my own business has also taught me just how much happens behind the scenes of a successful one. There are always ideas to execute, clients to take care of, marketing to keep up with, and a dozen little things competing for your attention.
My experience as a former REALTOR® gives me an even deeper understanding of that reality. Real estate moves quickly, priorities change constantly, and the work rarely ends when the appointment does.
That’s why the work I do now feels like such a natural fit: I get to bring organization, creativity, and follow-through to businesses that have already built something great and are ready for the right support behind them.

A little more about me...
When I’m not behind my laptop, you’ll usually find me spending time with my husband and our teenagers, cheering from the sidelines at a hockey rink, hanging out with our dog, Poppy, or somewhere near the water. We live in Cobourg, Ontario, and I’m very much a small-town, lake-loving kind of person. I’m also almost always dreaming up a new creative project or finding something around the house that I’ve decided needs to be done.
My family is a huge part of my life, and one of the reasons I value the flexibility that comes with running my own business. I’ve built a business that allows me to do work I genuinely enjoy while still being present for the people and things that matter most to me.
That probably plays a role in how I work with my clients, too. I’m a big believer that business can be both successful and human. I love getting to know the people behind the businesses I support, celebrating their wins, hearing the little updates about their lives, and building working relationships that feel easy and genuine.
Because at the end of the day, I don’t just care about the work. I care about the people I’m doing it for.
